Hand Knotted
Knotted by hand, one row at a time, on five looms in our workshop. This is the heavier, softer, longer-lived end of what we make — the rug that outlasts the room it was bought for. Wool as standard; silk, mohair or New Zealand wool where the specification calls for a luxury fibre.
Because every knot is tied by a person, the design can be anything you draw. Not a size variation on an existing pattern: your artwork, your client’s, or an antique you want reinterpreted at 9×12.

Our promise
A hand-knotted rug takes weeks of one person's time, so the colour has to be right before the first knot is tied. Every shade is dyed by hand, in small lots. That means a 5–10% variation between the sample and the finished rug — and that variation is the point. It's the difference between a rug that was made and a rug that was manufactured.
But variation isn't the same as wrong. If your rug doesn't match the samples you approved, we weave it again — at our cost, with no return shipping to arrange.
Applies against approved yarn samples, within 14 days of delivery, with photographs. Natural 5–10% dye variation isn't a fault. Doesn't cover a change of mind or a size measured incorrectly.
