Why studios commission us

Three things most rug suppliers can't do.

01

You never commit blind

Yarn samples posted to your studio, free to the trade. A scale drawing you sign off. Your design placed into a photograph of the actual room, so your client sees it in the space. Progress photos while it's on the loom. By the time your rug ships, there's nothing about it you haven't already seen.

02

Any design, not just any size

Send us your own drawing, your client's artwork, or a photograph of an antique you're trying to echo. Most suppliers offer their catalogue in your size. We weave what you draw, to the inch.

03

Our own looms, our own weavers

Nineteen looms and forty weavers in Lahore, employed by us and paid 15% above the local market rate. No agent, no trading house, no markup between you and the people making your rug.

What we weave

Six ways to specify a rug.

Browse by construction or by style. Every piece here was made to somebody's measurements — nothing is a stock item.

Any colour

Ninety-eight shades. Or the one you post us.

Specify by number and nothing gets misread — colour 47 means the same thing in your studio and at our dye house. Outside the library, send a paint chip or a fabric swatch and we dye to it.

Our promise

The yarn you approve is the standard we're held to.

Every colour here is dyed by hand, in small lots, by people rather than machines. That means a 5–10% variation between the sample and the finished rug — and that variation is the point. It's the difference between a rug that was made and a rug that was manufactured.

But variation isn't the same as wrong. If your rug doesn't match the samples you approved, we weave it again — at our cost, with no return shipping to arrange.

Applies against approved yarn samples, within 14 days of delivery, with photographs. Natural 5–10% dye variation isn't a fault. Doesn't cover a change of mind or a size measured incorrectly.

The workshop

We stopped outsourcing. Everything got better.

For years, Rug Gossips rugs were made on other people's looms. Quality drifted, timelines slipped, and we were apologising for work we'd never watched being made. So we brought all of it in-house — our looms, our dyeing, our weavers, our packing table.

To the trade

Designers, stylists and rug retailers.

Trade pricing, a sample kit on your desk, and one person who answers. No minimum order — we'll weave a single piece.
